The SEAT Fashion Designers’ Award gets the Palm

at the Palais des Festivals de Cannes international creativity rewarded :

Professional winner: Anggy HAIF, Cameroon

Student winner : Fabienne CASTILLE, Belgium

On Friday, July the 7th 2006, the 7th issue of the Fashion Designers’ Award,which took place at the Palais des Festivals de Cannes welcomed 22 international fashion designers competing before 1000 people: China, Hungary, Greece, Italy, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Cameroon, Morocco

Very trendy fashion shows and choregraphies succeeded one another at the carzyest rythms before a full and delighted audience. Avant-garde fashion, fashion for all, ceremonial fashion or show fashion, the designers (12 students and 10 professionals) mixed, often with boldness, styles and ideas to offer the audience and the jury a fashion show as surprising as qualitative, during more than two hours.

 

Under the presidency of Daniel Tribouillard, CEO of the Couture House Léonard, the members of the jury : MrsSophie GLEIZES, responsible for the creation, innovation and design policy in the textile - clothing – leather sector in the Ministry of Finance and Industry, MrsKristina CHI, manager of trading department, MrGuo Yan SHAN, general manager et MrQing XU, assistant manager of marketing department, Shanghai Fashion Week Office, MrEnrico ARNI, chef du service publicité et promotion des ventes et MrsElisabeth CARPANZANO, responsible for events and merchandising, SEAT France, MrVincent SMITH, responsible for men’s collections development, Kenzo Paris, MrPhilippe ADRIEN, president of the Clothing Union Provence- Alpes- Côte d’Azur, MrJacques Hervé LEVY, director of regional delegation of the French Institute for Textile and Clothing (IFTH), Mr Ronald VAN DER KEMP, fashion designer, Olivier ROUX and Laurent MEILHAUD from Laura Beaumont, Mr Frédéric FAURE, associate director of Space Maker, style office, Mrs Caroline REBRIOUX, fashion products manager, Brother France, Mrs Olena DATS’, professional winner of the 6th issue (2005) appointed the two Award’s winners:

 

WINNERS OF THE FASHION DESIGNERS’ AWARD 2006

 

  • In the Professional category , the award was bestowed on the cameroonian Anggy Haïf, who presented astonishing calabash, raffia and vegetable leather sculpture-dresses. He wins a bronze sculpture signed Ruth Richard and a 3000-euro-incentive grant offered by the cosmetics brand Laura Beaumont.

  

  • In the student category , Fabienne Castille, student from Brussels, won over the jury with her creations inspired by the geishas, japanese fashion victims and Serge Gainsbourg. She wins a bronze sculpture signed Ruth Richard, a 2000-euro-incentive grant offered by the cosmetics brand Laura Beaumont and the Space Maker special prize, that is a complete set of trends books by the brand Bloc-Note(worth 4000 euros), as well as a payed 3 month-internship.

Special Prizes were also bestowed on the partners’ favourite designers  :

 

  • SEAT Special Prize : Annette Bertram (Germany) presenting an avant-garde collection wins the lending of an ALTEA tdi 140 stylance for a 6 month period or 15000 km (worth 3678 euros)

 

  • Space Maker special Prize : François Legendre presenting a prêt-à-porter collection forMen wins a one-month unpaid internship

 

  • Brother Special Prize : Sophie Reyes presenting an evening wear collection wins a sewing and embroidering machine, mode Innov’is 4000D, worth 5207, 74 euros

 

  • Riviera Times Special Prize: Patricia Collier présenting an evening wear collection wins her mediatization in the magazine Riviera Times (worth 935 euros) as well as her promotion at the occasion of the Millionaire Fair in Cannes on september the 1st, 2d and 3rd 2006

 

  • FEM Info Special Prize: Sophie Reyes wins her mediatization in the magazine FEM Info (worth 5000 euros)

 

  • Fashion Diffusion  Special Prize: SophieReyes wins her mediatization in the magazine Fashion Diffusion (worth 4285 euros)

 

The challenge has been taken up by Didier LAVROFF, the organizer of this event : the Fashion Designers’ Award is a full achievement : true expression area for fashion designers, the Award emerges as an international and major Fashion event, helping the deserving young creation up to 32 000 euros to develop their carrier.
